Desactiva los subtítulos en español. Si aún no logras entender el diálogo, activa la opción "CC" (Closed Caption) en tu televisor para ver los subtítulos en inglés.

Intenta mirar películas que conozcas y hayas visto. Dado que ya sabes lo que sucede en la trama, podrás concentrarte en el vocabulario y las expresiones usadas en las conversaciones.

Repite las frases que escuchas y si no entiendes algo, utiliza un diccionario.

Presta atención a la pronunciación y la entonación. De esta forma, irás entrenando el oído para identificar las palabras, lo cual ciertamente te ayudará a mejorar tu comprensión del inglés.

JACK: Darkness. That's the first thing I remember. It was dark, and it was cold. And I was scared. But then... then I saw the moon. It was so big and it was so bright, and it seemed to chase the darkness away. And when it did, I wasn't scared anymore. Why I was there, and what I was meant to do - that I've never known. And a part of me wonders if I ever will.

hope	esperanza. Hopeful significa prometedor, ilusionado, con esperanza. Hopeless significa desesperado, sin esperanza.
to be in danger	estar en peligro
to keep somebody at bay	mantener a raya a alguien, mantener alejado a alguien
for centuries	durante siglos
to strike back	contraatacar. To strike significa golpear, atacar.

PITCH: Oh look, it's happening already.
JACK: What is?
PITCH: Children are waking up and realizing the Tooth Fairy never came. I mean such a little thing, but to a child...
JACK: What's going on?
TOOTH: They, they don't believe in me anymore.
PITCH: Didn't they tell you, Jack? It's great being a Guardian but there's a catch. If enough kids stop believing, everything your friends protect - wonder, hopes and dreams - it all goes away. And little by little, so do they. No Christmas, or Easter, or little fairies that come in the night. There will be nothing. But fear and darkness and me!

to wake up	despertarse. To get up significa levantarse.
to realize something	darse cuenta de algo
fairy	hada. Tooth Fairy es el equivalente al español "Ratoncito Pérez".
what's going on?	¿qué está sucediendo?
to believe in somebody/something	creer en alguien/algo
catch	En este caso, significa trampa, truco
enough	suficiente/s
to stop doing something	dejar de hacer algo. No debe confundirse con to stop to do something que significa detenerse para hacer algo.
to go away	desaparecer
little by little	de a poco
so do they	también lo hacen ellos
fear	miedo, temor
