Recomendaciones para aprender inglés
con películas
Elige escenas cortas, retrocede la película y vuelve a mirarlas. Para eso, marca el comienzo de la escena pulsando el botón "A-B" de tu reproductor de DVD. Cuando termine la escena, pulsa el mismo botón y se volverá a repetir la escena automáticamente.
Desactiva los subtítulos en español. Si aún no logras entender el diálogo, activa la opción "CC" (Closed Caption) en tu televisor para ver los subtítulos en inglés.
Intenta mirar películas que conozcas y hayas visto. Dado que ya sabes lo que sucede en la trama, podrás concentrarte en el vocabulario y las expresiones usadas en las conversaciones.
Repite las frases que escuchas y si no entiendes algo, utiliza un diccionario.
Presta atención a la pronunciación y la entonación. De esta forma, irás entrenando el oído para identificar las palabras, lo cual ciertamente te ayudará a mejorar tu comprensión del inglés.
TRUMAN: Maybe I'm being
set up for something. You ever feel like that, Marlon? Like your whole life has been building to something?MARLON: A coincidence. Haven't you ever heard of a coincidence?

| to lend | prestar. No debe confundirse con to borrow que significa tomar prestado. |

AGENT: I do have a fabulous rate on a cruise ship departing for Australia tomorrow. But you wouldn't want to do that.
TRUMAN: Why wouldn't I?
AGENT: I thought you were in a hurry.
TRUMAN: That's right.

| you do lose | usted sí que pierde. El auxiliar do se usa para enfatizar. |
| on the way | en el camino. Notar la diferencia con in the way = en el camino, pero obstruyendo el paso. |

| to keep somebody somewhere | detener a alguien en algún lugar |

| to help people travel - to help somebody do something | Lo importante aquí es recordar la construcción con el verbo to help. Notar que se usa el verbo sin to. |

| to depart for somewhere | partir hacia algún lugar. Notar el uso de la preposición for. |
| in a hurry | en un apuro, en apuros |

CHRISTOF: He was born in front of a live audience. Don't worry, he's not willing to risk his life for the truth. His doubts will turn him back.
